Dawnbringer's first memory was of pain, like his whole body was burning and decaying. As he looked down towards his new body, however, he noticed he was completely fine. DB could have sworn he saw bite marks around his arms and legs, but as he blinked, they were gone. Or perhaps, they were never there.
It took him quite a moment to cool down. But once that feeling passed, something else took its place: a sensation of being hollow. An uneasy moment of fearing something or someone was missing. That's something that follows him to this day, lingering deep in a corner of his mind. DB knows he won't ever figure out what it means, as his memories from his previous life are completely gone - however, that quickly evolved into a feeling of not being good enough, and could easily be described as impostor syndrome and FOMO (fear of missing out). It's a secret his taking to his (second) grave, fearing anyone could use it against him.
That first memory of his returns to haunt Dawnbringer from time to time. Interestingly, it seems to intensify whenever he's close to a canine of some sorts. Although his mind has long forgotten, his body didn't.
